Upper Opanuku Stream in Waitakere City
Our project involved the removal of weeds and unwanted vegetation from the Upper Opanuku Stream in Waitakere City prior to re vegetation. Our work contributes to the “Project Twin Streams” which is a Waitakere City Council funded initiative to improve the quality of water being discharged into the Waitemata Harbour (from high in the Waitakere Ranges) with updates to the community provided by way of six monthly publications (I have no doubt our “closed for Good” photos will appear in the next one).
A total team effort led to this pretty back breaking task being completed and with this a highly rewarding sense of satisfaction.
The Community Group coordinator said of the team’s great efforts: “What a great day we had yesterday!Thanks so much to you and the group for the work you did towards the Project Twin Streams vision.”
